Building & Contents Cover

Protect Your Home and Everything Inside

Buildings and Contents Insurance ensures your home and belongings are covered against unexpected events such as fire, theft, or natural disasters. This comprehensive policy provides financial protection, giving you peace of mind that your property and possessions are secure.

What Is Buildings and Contents Insurance?

Buildings and Contents Insurance combines two essential types of coverage:

  • Buildings Insurance: Protects the structure of your home, including walls, roof, windows, and permanent fixtures like kitchens and bathrooms.

  • Contents Insurance: Covers your personal belongings, such as furniture, electronics, and clothing, against loss or damage.

Together, these policies safeguard your property and possessions, whether you own your home or rent.

As with all insurance policies, conditions and exclusions will apply.

How Much Does Buildings and Contents Insurance Cost?

The cost of Buildings and Contents Insurance depends on several factors, including:

  • Property Value: Higher-value homes may have higher premiums.

  • Location: Areas with higher risks of theft or flooding may affect costs.

  • Coverage Level: Comprehensive policies covering accidental damage or high-value items may cost more.

  • Security Measures: Homes with alarms or additional security features often receive lower premiums.

Do I Need Buildings and Contents Insurance?

This insurance is crucial if you want to:

  1. Protect Your Investment: For homeowners, Buildings Insurance is often required by mortgage lenders.

  2. Safeguard Your Possessions: Contents Insurance ensures you can replace belongings in case of damage or theft.

  3. Prepare for Unexpected Events: Natural disasters, accidents, or vandalism can cause significant financial strain without coverage.

For homeowners, combining this policy with Life and Critical Illness Cover or Income Protection Cover can create a comprehensive financial safety net.
